Sunday Helps - Our Family Daily Focus!

Trying to make sure that everyone gets plenty of
one-on-one time can sometimes be a challenge.
As parents we tend to go where the need is,
and by the end of the week we wonder how much
time we actually got to spend with each child.
This is an idea we came up with a way to make sure that
EVERYONE
gets some special time with mom and dad!
We assigned each family member a day of the week.
That day is their day for 100% of our focus!
This has made a huge difference in our family.
We let the kids stay up a little later on their day,
we serve their favorite dinner and
we even do their jobs for them on their day!
They choose something special
they would like to do with mom and dad as well.
Sunday we focus on the Savior.
We try to do things that help us to remember Him
and keep His day holy.
Dave and I have our "Date Night!"
Because we love our night sooo much, it helps
us to make sure we follow through with our
plans for our children.
It truly fills our cups and makes our
family relationships a lot stronger!
Here's a Blank Family Focus Page for YOU:
Just add your own family pictures and names.
Laminate the page and add the clothespins.
I used Amazing Goop to attach my clothespins to the paper.
I used 4 business card magnets on the back of
the page so that I could put it on my fridge.
You can put it into a frame as well.
That's it . . . You're ready to ENJOY your Family!

Saturday Check-List

Saturday is a Special Day . . . It's the Day
WE get ready for Sunday!
Notice the WE?
Growing up, my mom always made sure we had
our clothes ready, our hair rolled into spongy pink rollers,
the Sunday Bag loaded, and the grocery shopping done.
Saturday was that Special Day!
Everyone was expected to pitch-in and do their part to make sure
the house was clean so that we could all enjoy the Sabbath.
I admit it . . . Saturday Jobs weren't my favorite,
but now that I have a family of my own, I can see the widom!
Make sure you feed everyone first . . . they will be much
more willing the work and so much more productive.
We try to do something FUN as a family
after the work is done.  It gives the boys that little extra incentive
they need to finish the hard jobs.
We use a Check-List to make sure we
don't forget anything!

This is Our Family Saturday Check-List:
Saturday Check-List PDF
I included an example of mine as well as a
blank one for you to try.
You may want to laminate your Saturday Check-list,
so that you can re-use each week.  Use a wet-erase marker
to list assignments and to sign off completed items.
Remember to praise good efforts
and to SMILE while you work!

A Little About This Blog!

I love finding new ways to organize my home!
I dream of:
 Clean Organized Closets, Job Charts
and Family Traditions!
Seriously . . . I sleep with a notebook so I can
write the down the ideas as they come!
I love to look at the organizing magazines, but I have to say,
they're all missing one thing . . . THE FAMILY!
I could keep a perfect house 100% of the time too
if no one ever actually lived in it!
This blog is a place for me to share the organizing ideas
I'm using in my home, with my family.
I guess you could call it, My Family Journal!
I want to keep track of the new ideas we we are
trying in our home and I want to share our successes with YOU!
I truly believe that being a MOM takes a lot of
work and requires even more patience.
But creating a strong ETERNAL FAMILY is worth
all of the effort we can put into it and more!
My hope is that this blog will become a resource for you
as you raise your sweet families and will be
a daily reminder for me,
to never lose sight of what matters most . . .
MY FAMILY!
You Guys ROCK!
